Right now my major focus is hiring and building out our North American team, but making sure we're doing it in a way that's quick and efficient without sacrificing the quality of our hires. The job market is getting more competitive so I'm also constantly collecting market data to make sure we're positioning ourselves as best as possible and getting in front of the right talent.

We're in growth mode over here, and every hire that we bring on has the opportunity to make a big impact on more than just revenue — they get to help shape processes, brand and company culture. It's really fun knowing I get to play a part in that by helping hire the team!

or global teams together at least a few times a year. So far this year, the entire U.S.

team gathered at our Miami office for our company kickoff, and our full global sales team met in Barcelona for our revenue kickoff. It sounds cliché, but I am truly forming bonds and making memories that will last a lifetime with the team and getting that in-person time really helps with that.

Outside of seeing the global team in person, Perk's culture stands out from other organizations I have been at due to the openness of Perk's leadership team and the willingness of every team member to focus on what matters most. With every big funding announcement, acquisition, strategy maneuver and virtually every other important decision that is made, Perk employees hear directly from leadership as to why these decisions are being made and the potential impact they will have.

That is truly refreshing.

You have to be scrappy. When a company is growing as quickly as Perk is, the reps that expect deals, information and success to come to them will never succeed. Rather, the reps that join a fast-paced environment that are willing to get into the trenches, figure out what they need to do to succeed, expose themselves to other parts of the business and truly learn the ins and outs of the company, platform and clients' challenges are the ones that shine.

Lastly, the amount of growth that is available at Perk right now is truly unprecedented — including our new acquisition of AmTrav. Quarter over quarter, we are seeing individuals progress, opening up opportunities for career growth and exposure to new experiences that you likely wouldn't get from other sales orgs.

In my role as an account manager, I help clients optimize their travel strategies by recommending solutions that save time, money and boost efficiency. I always support these recommendations with data. While I joined Perk with a strong foundational understanding of data, I had limited experience with business intelligence visualization tools like Looker.

I was eager to develop my skills in this area and really take my knowledge to the next level so I could better serve my clients.

Perk supported my education in many ways. The internal data team offered optional training sessions from beginner to expert levels, which I found incredibly valuable. I also leveraged Perk's Udemy access to take online courses including those focused on business intelligence.

Cross-departmental collaboration is welcomed which made it easy to connect with data team members who were always generous with their time and knowledge. This supportive environment, combined with my manager's help in balancing my workload, allowed me to start building my own dashboards within weeks.

My new data skills have led me to build countless complex reports and dashboards that have been critical to my own role and have been widely used by my team. Now, I can rapidly create extremely specific data visualizations for any client request or question, noticeably increasing my credibility.

This valuable, specialized skill has directly contributed to my advancement at Perk from mid-market account manager to senior account manager and, ultimately, to enterprise account manager. This expertise has already proven vital in my current role, and I know it will serve me well throughout my career.

I spent over eight years as an individual contributor, always knowing that I wanted to transition into sales management. However, I understood that leadership roles aren't simply given — they must be earned. I began developing the necessary skills by mentoring other account executives on my team, actively stepping into a leadership role whenever possible.

Throughout my career, I was fortunate to have managers who provided insight into their daily challenges and responsibilities, further solidifying my passion for sales leadership. At Perk, I made my aspirations clear from the start while also taking initiative beyond my core responsibilities.

I identified gaps in the sales process between internal teams and took the lead in creating the North America Impact Team. Our mission was to strengthen cross-functional relationships, streamline the sales process and foster a culture of open feedback — all of which contributed to increased sales effectiveness.

The initiative was well received and continues to thrive today.

Relationship-building is one of the most important skills to have. Building trust and rapport with clients is essential throughout the entire process. Customers don't want to feel like you're simply telling them what they want to hear — trust me, it will backfire.

They want to feel heard, understood, and confident that they're investing in a solution that genuinely addresses their needs. In management, strong relationships with your team create a supportive and motivating environment. When reps feel valued and empowered, they perform at their best.

Being approachable, honest and open with your team fosters trust and encourages a culture of collaboration and growth.

Be the trusted rep your manager can always rely on and be proactive with creating new resources and creating projects — not only does this help you grow, but it also positions you as a leader. By stepping up, you establish yourself as a trusted voice for your team — a go-to resource for guidance, support and mentorship.

This positions you well for future promotions, as you'll have concrete examples of how you're already demonstrating leadership and management skills.

I felt like Perk was not only solving a real problem and building a product I really believed in, but doing that while always putting the customer first.

My role as a sales development representative team leader directly connects to our mission. My team is at the forefront introducing potential customers to a more seamless way to manage travel and expenses. For example, one of my team recently met in-person with a potential client.

They were able to build a deeper connection with the client than what would be possible over a 30-minute call. Connecting in real life matters and as an SDR manager I experience that not only with our customers, but also within my team. Whether it is in one-on-ones, collaborating on new messaging or reviewing calls with my team, having that real life connection is crucial to our success and culture.

First and foremost, understand our mission. Our mission guides our culture, our innovation and our customer-centric focus, so it's important for job seekers to believe in it. Second, research our values and come with examples of how you have leveraged them in your current or previous roles.

For example, we are known for our seven-star customer service, so being able to showcase how you go above and beyond for your customers is important. Being able to articulate your owner mentally is crucial because our team aims to solve problems proactively and see projects through from start to end.

Lastly, my advice would be to be your authentic self, we love to work with people who are empathetic, collaborative and genuine.
