About Amp

Amp is a digital collateral token created as an evolution of Flexacoin. It is designed to enable fast and secure value transfer with a focus on irreversibility. Amp is used as collateral to ensure the value of transfers during the confirmation process, which can take seconds to days. If consensus is not reached, the Amp collateral can be liquidated to cover losses. Collateral partitions are subsets of Amp tokens used for specific purposes, each with unique addresses and customizable rules and strategies. Amp is used by Flexa to build secure and transparent networks that accrue value.
AMP is an open-source, non-inflationary asset that serves as collateral to secure transactions and mitigate the risk associated with asset transfers in digital payments. By utilizing AMP as collateral, the Flexa Network can guarantee various forms of value exchange - such as digital payments, fiat currency exchange, loan distributions, property sales, and more - without the merchants having to worry about fraud or asset volatility.
The Flexa Network is a payment platform designed to bridge the gap between merchants and blockchain technology. It enables businesses to accept digital assets as a form of payment while allowing them to receive their preferred fiat currency. The platform acts as an intermediary, ensuring speedy, fraud-proof transactions. AMP serves as the backbone of this ecosystem, functioning as the collateral token that keeps the Flexa Network secure and efficient.

Amp was co-created by Flexa and ConsenSys. Flexa is a fintech company committed to mainstreaming digital currencies in commerce, and ConsenSys is a market-leading blockchain technology firm focused on building Ethereum blockchain infrastructure and applications. The founders of Flexa include Trevor Filter, Zachary Kilgore, and Tyler Spalding, with Tyler Spalding often serving as the public face of the company in interviews.

ConsenSys was founded by Joseph Lubin, who is also a co-founder of Ethereum, and is headquartered in New York City. Together, Flexa and ConsenSys aim to foster new, open, efficient, and secure economic systems through the Flexa Network and AMP token.
