About Kerrigan Network

Kerrigan Network (KRGN) is a multi-algorithm proof-of-work cryptocurrency built on a Dash fork. It runs four mining algorithms in parallel from genesis (X11, KawPoW, Equihash 200,9 and Equihash 192,7) with independent difficulty adjustment per algorithm. The network supports optional privacy via Sapling shielded transactions (zk-SNARKs), allowing transfers that can conceal sender, receiver and amount while keeping a transparent layer available. Kerrigan also adds the Hivemind Protocol, a seal-based consensus layer where miners attest to blocks using BLS signatures and committee selection, with seal weight influencing chain selection alongside PoW. KRGN is used for transaction fees, value transfers (transparent or shielded), and incentivising network participants including miners and masternode operators, with governance handled through masternode voting.

KRGN is used as the native asset for paying fees and moving value on the Kerrigan blockchain, with support for both transparent and shielded transfers.

Key token utilities described in the provided material include:

  • Transaction fees: including an action-based fee model for shielded transactions (base fee plus per-spend and per-output fees).
  • Optional privacy payments: users can send funds to or from shielded addresses using Sapling shielded transactions, with wallet RPC support for creating addresses, sending and managing keys.
  • Network participation incentives: KRGN is used to compensate participants who secure and operate the network (proof-of-work mining and masternode services).
  • Masternode participation and governance: masternodes are registered on-chain and can vote on proposals, including governance decisions related to network funding mechanisms.
  • Future compute network incentives (V2 plan): the roadmap describes extending the network to support GPU-based AI inference, with incentives designed to reward inference providers alongside miners.
