About StraitsX XUSD
XUSD is a USD-pegged stablecoin issued by StraitsX USD Issuance Pte. Ltd. It targets 1:1 parity with USD using segregated reserves held in cash, cash equivalents and short-term US government/public-entity debt. Reserves are reconciled daily and reviewed twice monthly by an independent firm. Assets are kept in custody accounts on trust for holders. XUSD operates on Ethereum (ERC-20) and BNB Smart Chain (BEP-20). It is used for settlement, payments (including six-decimal micropayments) and cross-border remittances, and can be bought, sold, redeemed or swapped on the StraitsX Platform. Redemptions are processed at 1 XUSD per 1 USD (less fees) subject to onboarding, eligibility and any direct-redeem minimums. The issuer may freeze or repossess tokens only under lawful direction, prices on third-party venues may deviate from USD 1, and StraitsX may add chains or retire contracts with 1:1 conversion supported via its platform.
XUSD is used for digital-asset settlement and exchange trading, payments including micropayments (supports up to six decimal places), and cross-border remittances aimed at faster transfers and lower costs. On the StraitsX Platform, users can buy, sell, redeem and swap XUSD with supported tokens such as XSGD, USDC and USDT. Redemptions are processed at 1 XUSD per 1 USD (less any applicable fees) via the platform or directly with the issuer, subject to onboarding and eligibility.
XUSD is issued by StraitsX USD Issuance Pte. Ltd., within the StraitsX Group (associated with Xfers Pte. Ltd.). Xfers holds a Major Payment Institution (MPI) licence for e-money issuance in Singapore, and StraitsX USD has received MAS approval as an MPI for digital payment token services for issuing XUSD, with acknowledgement of compliance with Singapore’s upcoming stablecoin framework.
Reserve composition & management: Cash, cash equivalents and/or short-term US government/public-entity notes; internal governance sets reserve guidelines targeting ≥100% of outstanding XUSD. Segregation & custody: Reserves are kept in custody accounts on trust for holders, separate from issuer assets, with licensed Singapore or permitted overseas custodians. Redemption & convertibility: Platform access for USD withdrawals to whitelisted bank accounts; direct redemption with the issuer after onboarding/whitelisting; issuer may set a minimum for direct redemptions.
Holders obtain a claim on reserve assets upon legitimate redemption; on-chain transfers are irreversible. StraitsX may freeze or repossess tokens only under regulatory direction (e.g., sanctions or fraud). Use on third-party platforms can result in market prices deviating from USD 1. Operational, network and custodial risks are outlined in the whitepaper, including potential delays during congestion or incidents. Eligibility excludes restricted or prohibited activities (e.g., sanctions, illicit finance, darknet markets, unlicensed gambling).
