About Liquity
The LQTY token is primarily used for governance and earning fees. Holders of LQTY can participate in the decision-making process of the Liquity protocol by voting on various proposals. Additionally, LQTY holders are entitled to a share of the fees generated by the protocol. These fees are collected from users who interact with the system, for example, by borrowing LUSD or redeeming LUSD for ETH.
The Liquity platform, on the other hand, is used for borrowing and lending. Users can deposit ETH as collateral to mint LUSD, which can then be used for various purposes such as trading, investing, or paying off debts. Additionally, users can also earn interest by depositing LUSD into the Liquity Stability Pool.

Sei Tokenomics Are More Complicated Than They Seem
Sei (SEI) launched in August 2023 with a fixed supply of 10 billion tokens split across five buckets: 48% ecosystem reserve, 20% private sale investors (vesting), 20% team (vesting), 9% Sei Foundation treasury, and 3% Binance Launchpool. Several billion SEI have been released into circulating supply through vesting unlocks. SEI trades near $0.06 with a market cap around $450 million, well off its March 2024 all-time high of $1.14. The protocol uses inflationary staking rewards on a network targeted at high-throughput trading, but those emissions dilute non-stakers and compress retail yields below the nominal APY. Liquity has refunded 100% of its protocol revenue to users since V1 launched in 2021. V2 expanded on that promise when it launched in January 2025. The protocol has generated an estimated $12 million of cumulative fees across both versions. None of that went to a treasury, and all of it either went to stability pool depositors or was permanently removed from circulation through LQTY staking rewards.
