Folks Finance

Some of the utilities described below are being introduced gradually and may not yet be available in every product or integration.

• Governance and voting - Protocol governance FOLKS allows eligible users to take part in Folks Finance governance. Token holders can vote on proposals that may affect areas such as supported collateral, risk parameters, incentive programmes and the development path of the protocol. - Extended ecosystem governance Through specific integrations, FOLKS can also be used to participate in wider ecosystem governance processes that Folks Finance connects to, giving holders a role in a broader set of technical or policy proposals. - Fees, discounts and “gas-like” use - Router swap fee discounts When using Folks Finance’s routing tools for swaps, users can obtain discounted fees that depend on their use or holding of FOLKS. This links trading activity on the protocol with the token. - Cross-network swap fee discounts For swaps that are routed across different networks through an integrated DEX aggregator, FOLKS can give access to reduced fees on those cross-network operations. - Bridge fee reductions On the protocol’s bridge interface, users may benefit from lower bridging fees when FOLKS is used under the configured discount rules. This connects the token directly to cross-network asset movement. - Gas-like role for protocol operations Within Folks Finance’s cross-network layer, FOLKS can be used in a gas-like way for certain protocol fees. Paying these fees in FOLKS is intended to reduce the overall cost of operating across multiple networks. - Incentives and rewards - Liquidity incentives FOLKS is distributed to users who supply or borrow assets or provide liquidity in supported markets and pools. These programmes aim to support activity and liquidity across the protocol. - Other reward programmes The token is also used in airdrops, campaigns and partner activities that reward protocol usage, governance participation or specific contribution to the ecosystem. - Mobile app and product perks - Mobile and card-related benefits In connection with Folks Finance’s mobile application and card-style features, holding or using FOLKS can unlock discounted fees, higher limits or other product-level perks, depending on the user’s tier and region. - Future utilities - Planned extensions The team has signalled that new utilities for FOLKS may be added over time, especially as new versions of the cross-network infrastructure launch. These could include extra fee mechanics, additional incentive designs and deeper integration of the token into new products.

Folks Finance and the FOLKS token are developed by Folks Global Ltd, the company behind the protocol’s interfaces and product suite. The project is led by co-founder and CEO Benedetto Biondi, alongside a team of engineers and contributors focused on DeFi, risk management and cross-network infrastructure.

The team introduced FOLKS as the central token that aligns protocol governance, user incentives and fee behaviour across the different components of Folks Finance.
