DeGate

The DG token primarily serves as a governance token within DeGate’s two-tier DAO system: Home DAO and Council DAO. Holders of DG tokens can vote on key governance proposals, including operational decisions, budget allocations, and partnerships. The token also facilitates protocol funding, liquidity mining, and incentivisation programmes. DG is integral to the governance structure and supports the functioning of DeGate’s modules such as the AMM, leveraged trading, and the bridging service​​.

Although 'DG' was the ticker assigned at the deployment of the DeGate Token's smart contract, it is already in use by another asset that has a larger market presence and higher trading volume on major exchanges. Due to this pre-existing association and to avoid confusion in the marketplace, the alternative ticker 'DEGATE' has been adopted for this token. This designation is specifically used to ensure that assets are distinctly identified.
