About Cudos
Cudos (CUDOS) is the native token of the CUDOS Network. It powers the network by facilitating transaction payments, staking for security, and governance. The CUDOS Network is a cross-chain, decentralized computing platform. It allows trading computational resources via blockchain or cloud APIs. Built on Tendermint protocol, it supports Wasm for smart contracts. Founded by entrepreneur Mathew Hawkins, with COO Lee Woodham, bringing over 25 years of experience in scaling financial and tech companies.
The CUDOS token is used for various purposes within the CUDOS network:
- Staking: Token holders can stake their CUDOS tokens to become validators on the network, participating in the network's consensus mechanism and earning rewards.
- Governance: Token holders can participate in the governance of the network, proposing and voting on changes to the network's parameters and rules.
- Payment: The CUDOS token can be used as a payment method for computing services within the network.
The CUDOS network and its associated token were created by Cudo Ventures, a technology company that develops software for distributed computing and blockchain applications. The company is based in the United Kingdom and was founded by Matt Hawkins, Lee Woodham, and Pete Hill.
The CUDOS merger with the Artificial Superintelligence (ASI) Alliance involved transitioning the CUDOS blockchain and token system to the Fetch.ai (ASI) mainnet. This process included halting the CUDOS mainnet, migrating all data and token balances to Fetch.ai, and incorporating 30 CUDOS validators into Fetch.ai’s expanded validator set of 91. CUDOS token holders received Fetch.ai ($FET) tokens, with balances converted at a ratio of 1:118.344. This collaboration aims to enhance both networks, and updates on further developments are forthcoming.
