Wayfinder

PROMPT is the native token of the Wayfinder network and underpins its operational, incentive, and governance mechanisms. Its uses, as ratified by the community, include:

• Creating AI Shells: PROMPT is required to mint new shells - autonomous AI agents with access to Wayfinder’s shared tooling and memory infrastructure.

• Accessing Blockchain Services: Shells use PROMPT to pay for access to wayfinding paths, cover compute and LLM usage fees, and trigger pre-execution tests via Verification Agents.

• Path Creation and Staking: Developers proposing new wayfinding paths must stake PROMPT. Approved paths generate rewards for their creators, while incorrect paths can lead to slashed stakes.

• Private Access and Licensing: PROMPT is used to purchase or license access to private wayfinding paths and to maintain exclusive shell memory or capabilities.

• Memory and Training Functions: PROMPT is required to expand a shell’s memory, reset learning history, or pin specific memories to influence long-term behaviour.

• Governance Participation: PROMPT functions as the network’s governance token. Both humans and shells can submit and vote on proposals, with agent voting power capped at 20% to manage sybil risk.

• Bounty Rewards and Network Incentives: The token funds bounties for undiscovered paths and rewards for contributors who create or verify important infrastructure.

Wayfinder was created by the Wayfinder Foundation in collaboration with Parallel Studios and the Echelon Prime Foundation. It was originally developed to support Colony, a strategic simulation game built on blockchain. The infrastructure later expanded into a general-purpose platform for AI agents operating across blockchain environments.

Governance of the protocol is managed by the Wayfinder community, including PRIME token holders and contributors from associated ecosystems. The initial framework, token utilities, and roadmap were approved in a community vote, with active governance now ongoing.
