About teleBTC
teleBTC (TELEBTC) is a wrapped Bitcoin token used on EVM-compatible blockchains. It is minted when BTC is locked on the Bitcoin network and a request is verified on-chain by smart contracts. When redeemed, teleBTC is burned and BTC is released back on Bitcoin. teleBTC is used to move BTC into EVM chains for smart contract use, redeem back to native BTC and swap into other tokens on supported EVM chains by wrapping BTC into teleBTC first. teleBTC is associated with the TeleSwap and TeleportDAO ecosystem. TeleSwap was co-founded by Niusha Moshrefi, Mahyar Daneshpajooh and Ali Saheli.
teleBTC is used to:
- Move BTC into EVM chains as a token that can be used with smart contracts, while keeping a route back to native BTC.
- Redeem back to native BTC by burning teleBTC and triggering the release of BTC on the Bitcoin network under the protocol’s rules.
- Swap BTC into other tokens on supported EVM chains by wrapping BTC into teleBTC first and then exchanging it on-chain.
teleBTC is associated with the TeleSwap and TeleportDAO ecosystem.
