Public Mint

Public Mint's fee system operates primarily through synthetic USD (USD+) rather than the native MINT token for transaction fees. There are three main types of fees in the Public Mint ecosystem:

1. Earnings Fee: A portion of the earnings generated through the EARN Program is shared with MINT token stakers who participate in governance. This fee is set at 15%, which is then split between Public Mint and the MINT token stakers.

2. Unstaking Fee: This fee applies when converting USD+ back to regular USD. It is set at $1.00 or 0.25% of the transaction amount, whichever is higher.

3. Transfer Fee: The cost of transferring USD+ between users is slightly higher than transferring regular USD due to the complexity of the underlying smart contracts. The fee for USD+ transfers is $0.10 or 0.01% of the transaction amount, whichever is higher.

These fees support the network's operations and incentivise MINT token holders to actively participate in governance and other activities within the ecosystem.

Public Mint was created by a team of experienced professionals in the blockchain and payments industries. The executive team includes Paulo Rodrigues, the CEO, who has over 20 years of experience in the cards and payments industry; Jorge Pereira, the CTO and Founder, a seasoned systems engineer and entrepreneur; Diane Gray-Smith, the CFO, a finance professional with a strong leadership record; Thomas Brooke, the Legal Counsel, a fintech lawyer with 20 years of experience; and Rafael Torres, the VP of Engineering, with extensive experience in product management and smart contract development. The core team also includes specialists in blockchain engineering, system operations, and application design.

Although 'MINT' was the ticker assigned at the deployment of the Public Mint Token, it is already in use by another asset that has a larger market presence and higher trading volume on major exchanges. Due to this pre-existing association and to avoid confusion in the marketplace, the alternative ticker 'PUBLICMINT' has been adopted for this token. This designation is specifically used to ensure that assets are distinctly identified.
