About Loopring
Who Created Loopring?
Loopring was founded by Daniel Wang, a software engineer based in China who worked at internet companies including Google and JD.com. It is an Ethereum-based project that started in June 2017 and has evolved into a multifaceted effort across the stack, from protocol to product.
How Do You Use Loopring?
Users can access Loopring's decentralized exchange and payment platform by using the Loopring Layer2 App, which is built on the Loopring protocol and run by the Loopring relayer. The app provides a gas-free, high-speed, and secure trading and transfer experience. Users can also use the Loopring Wallet, a self-custodial smart contract wallet with Loopring zkRollup baked in. The wallet allows users to swap on the AMM, trade on the books, invest and earn in DeFi, and send payments to anyone, anywhere.

Learn About Loopring
Loopring Wallets Still Outperform CEX Costs in 2026
In late February 2026, Ethereum gas prices averaged 68 gwei for five days straight, pushing a single token swap on Uniswap to anywhere between $42 and $51. The Dencun upgrade helped rollups, but mainnet fees barely moved. Loopring's ZK-rollup batches multiple trades into one Ethereum proof, bringing that same swap down to around $1.50. That fee gap is the whole story for lrc in 2026.
