About LIGHT
LIGHT is intended to connect governance, incentives and activity around Bitcoin-native RGB assets and Lightning-based payments.
- Governance: holders can vote on protocol and product upgrades, influence priorities for new features and help guide how resources are allocated across the Bitlight stack, including the wallet, RGB infrastructure and Lightning-RGB node software. - Staking and incentives: LIGHT can be used in staking and yield programmes, for example by staking tokens or providing liquidity in pools that involve LIGHT in return for rewards, with the aim of supporting long-term participation and market liquidity. - Medium of exchange: LIGHT is used in trading pairs against other assets, for paying fees in supported products and as a utility token inside applications that integrate Bitlight’s RGB and Lightning stack. - Bitcoin-based DeFi (“BitcoinFi”): LIGHT acts as a core token for DeFi activity built on RGB and Lightning, including use as utility or collateral in lending and borrowing protocols, providing liquidity incentives for RGB20 stablecoin and token markets, and rewarding participants who run or support infrastructure such as the RGB Lightning Network Node (RLN). - Bridge to RGB assets on Bitcoin: while LIGHT exists on BNB Smart Chain, Bitlight’s broader design involves RGB20 assets on Bitcoin. LIGHT functions as the main economic and governance token, while RGB20 assets, including stablecoins, serve as payment or application-specific tokens routed over Lightning.
Bitlight (LIGHT) was created by Bitlight Labs, a company developing infrastructure for Bitcoin using RGB and the Lightning Network with a focus on smart contracts and stablecoin payments.
The project is led by founder and chief executive officer (CEO) Valestin (also referred to as Valestin Yang/Young). Other key team members include Cairo (chief technology officer, CTO), Jackey (co-founder) and Arnaud (chief operating officer, COO).
Bitlight Labs develops components such as the Bitlight Wallet for Bitcoin and RGB assets, the RGB Lightning Network Node (RLN) based on Lightning Dev Kit (LDK), and developer tools and test environments for issuing and integrating RGB assets on Bitcoin and Lightning.
The company was founded in the early 2020s and is linked to operations in both the United Kingdom and the United States, including London and California. It has raised external funding, including a seed round in 2024 led by Gate Ventures and a USD 9.6 million Pre-A round in September 2025 led by Amber Group and Fundamental Labs, with further backing from Signum Capital, ArkStream Capital, Skynet Trading and Gate.io Labs.

Bitlight Labs (LIGHT) is a BNB Chain BEP20 token whose project builds RGB and Lightning Network infrastructure for Bitcoin. The token currently trades at $0.2435 with a $10.4M market cap and a $101.8M FDV, against a 420 million max supply and 43 million in circulation. Daily volume sits around $5.97 million, with Gate.io carrying $2.83 million of LIGHT/USDT trade and KuCoin and MEXC handling smaller shares. The Bitlight RLN desktop client launched March 24, 2026 and gives RGB asset issuance and instant Lightning Network transfer their first product-ready interface. First insider and private allocation unlocks begin in 2026, which will reshape circulating supply within months. The thesis: getting LIGHT into a self-custody wallet is straightforward, but ticker collisions, market-order slippage, and the upcoming unlock schedule are where new buyers lose money.
