About Jambo
Jambo (J) is the utility token of the Jambo ecosystem, a mobile-first Web3 infrastructure built on Solana. It facilitates transactions, rewards, staking, and discounts across Jambo’s ecosystem, which includes the JamboPhone, JamboApp, and JamboWallet. Jambo aims to drive blockchain adoption in emerging markets by providing accessible hardware and software solutions.

The $J token serves multiple functions within the Jambo ecosystem: - Rewards and Questing: Users earn $J by completing on-chain and off-chain tasks, participating in campaigns, and interacting with Jambo’s partners. - Staking: Future staking pools will provide exclusive benefits, including access to special quests, discounts on products, and participation in partner airdrops. - Referrals: Jambo incentivizes community growth by rewarding users who refer new participants to the ecosystem. - Discounts: Jambo plans to offer discounts on physical products and platform fees for users who transact with $J.
Jambo was founded in 2021 by siblings James Zhang and Alice Zhang, who were born and raised in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. James Zhang is a computer science graduate from New York University (NYU). Together, they founded Jambo with the mission to onboard the next million (and potentially billion) users to Web3. The Zhang family has been involved in international business in the region for three generations, primarily investing in local infrastructure to develop rural communities. This background inspired James and Alice to leverage their understanding of the continent’s potential and challenges to create Jambo, aiming to empower Africans through Web3 technology. Under their leadership, Jambo has attracted significant investments, including a $30 million Series A funding round led by Paradigm, to further its mission of bringing Web3 to Africa. By focusing on accessible hardware and software solutions, Jambo aims to democratize access to financial services and digital tools, fostering economic prosperity across the African continent.
