Halo (HLO) is a decentralised protocol designed for verifiable computation and private execution of smart contracts, leveraging zero-knowledge proofs (ZKPs) to ensure correctness and confidentiality of off-chain computations while reducing on-chain congestion. As the network's native token, HLO facilitates key functions such as computation validation, execution costs, staking for network security, and governance participation.
HLO, the native token of the Halo protocol, plays several technical roles in the network:
- Computation Validation: HLO tokens are used to incentivise validators who verify off-chain computations and submit proofs to the main chain.
