About Degen Zoo
Degen Zoo (DZOO) is a non-profit NFT gaming token tied to a blockchain game aimed at raising awareness of endangered species and the consequences of harmful environmental practices. It features a collection of NFTs representing endangered animals, and players use DZOO tokens for NFT minting and engagement in the game. The project was launched in early 2023 as a response to the controversial Crypto Zoo project. DZOO tokens cannot be mined but are earned as staking rewards and from burning NFTs.
DZOO serves several purposes. Firstly, it supports a charitable initiative, with the game's developers promising to donate all profits to animal charities working to prevent the extinction of endangered animals. The Degen Zoo game involves NFTs that represent 120 endangered animals, each with unique traits like weight, endangerment levels, lifetime, and staking reward percentages. Players engage in the game by using DZOO tokens for NFT minting and can earn rewards by "burning" these NFTs, which unlocks the tokens locked within them. This mechanic is designed to simulate and raise awareness of the impact of human actions on wildlife extinction.
