To stay updated with evolving technological demands, Dawn Protocol initiated a Token Swap between Q1 and Q2 of 2020 to transition from the ERC20 standard to the ERC777, better suited to Dawn's upcoming features. This swap aimed to transition most, if not all, existing tokens to the new smart contract standards, with its completion marked by a core protocol upgrade governance proposal.
