What is Aave (Avalanche Bridge) (AAVE.e)?
AAVE.e is utilized within the Avalanche DeFi ecosystem for governance and as a utility token in decentralized finance (DeFi) applications. It enables users to participate in governing the Aave protocol on Avalanche, vote on proposals, and stake their tokens for liquidity provision, borrowing, and lending services, thereby integrating Ethereum’s established DeFi ecosystem with Avalanche’s high-performance capabilities.
The bridging of AAVE to the Avalanche network, resulting in AAVE.e, was facilitated by the Avalanche Bridge, developed by Ava Labs. This technology uses Intel SGX to ensure secure and efficient cross-chain transfers. The management of the bridge, involving a consortium of trusted partners known as Wardens, ensures the security and reliability of transferring AAVE between Ethereum and Avalanche, maintaining the integrity of transactions and the safety of funds within both ecosystems.
