WLD Scams Spike as Worldcoin Hits Twenty-Five Million

Worldcoin (WLD) is the native token of the Worldcoin/World project co-founded by OpenAI CEO Sam Altman in 2023, designed to create a global digital identity network called World ID through biometric iris scanning via proprietary hardware called Orbs. WLD trades around $0.25 with a market cap reflecting roughly 98% drawdown from its $11.82 all-time high recorded in March 2024, with circulating supply near 3.38 billion against a 10 billion maximum supply. The token launched July 2023 and runs on both Ethereum mainnet and World Chain, the project's Layer-2 network built on Optimism's OP Stack. ZachXBT publicly accused the project of operating a predatory token framework in April 2026 after exposing escrow platforms selling KYC-verified accounts for as little as fifty cents. Daily emissions of roughly 5.1 million WLD reduce to approximately 2.9 million WLD on July 24, 2026.

WLD Scams Are Spiking as Worldcoin Hits Twenty-Five Million Users

On April 28, a blockchain investigator by the name of ZachXBT stumbled upon Worldcoin accounts confirming that escrow websites were selling accounts for as low as $0.50 that had gone through the platform's biometric KYC process. Yes. Half a dollar. These finds would eventually expose an entire black market associated with the project's identity program. If you're looking to learn how to buy Worldcoin in 2026 just stop right there. This project is full of risks that you otherwise don't have when buying most coins. The risks here? They're specific to WLD's freshly launched identity program. "Look, Worldcoin is down at $0.25 and the token is down 98% from all-time high. So now we're just at a point where these new buyers are getting in at cheap prices where you have bargain hunters and scammers." Keep reading to learn exactly how to buy Worldcoin, red flags to avoid, and steps to take after your tokens are in your wallet.

Bar chart comparing current WLD daily emission of 5.1 million tokens against the post-July 24 2026 emission of 2.9 million tokens. The programmatic supply schedule cuts daily issuance by approximately 43 percent.

Why Buying WLD Isn't Like Buying Bitcoin or ETH

Buying most tokens has one basic flow: Locate an exchange. Deposit funds. Execute a trade. Worldcoin built a second on-ramp users can't use to buy any other cryptocurrency. Individuals can acquire WLD tokens directly from the network in exchange for proof of identity. That means visiting a Worldcoin distributor who will scan your iris with a special Orb device. This has led to two separate classes of token purchasers. Each with very different risk profiles. Users buying WLD on an exchange take on the standard risks associated with cryptocurrency. Users obtaining tokens via verification must consider an entirely new category of risks. Risks related to the hardware device, their biometric data, and trust in the local distributor. Scammers have targeted novices by taking advantage of the confusion between these two classes of buyers. Novice users who may not understand the process or are being redirected between flows by malicious websites.

Worldcoin has launched operations in over 100 countries. They now have up to 12 million Orb-verified individuals using their product, according to Cryptopolitan. Worldcoin scams naturally scale with that presence. Thing is, most of the attention on wld coin news has centered around its enterprise partnerships. Zoom. DocuSign. Visa. Few have highlighted the very real dangers faced by average consumers. That's where the scammers come in.

Fake Orbs, Fake Verification Sites, and Phishing Exchanges

Fake orb verification events are the most common scam against Worldcoin buyers in 2026. This pop-up (link frequently shared on Telegram/WhatsApp) promises free WLD grants if you go somewhere and scan your iris. They steal your biometric data. No one affiliated with the Worldcoin protocol will ask for your irises. Sometimes the hardware they're using is just a hacked up consumer camera with a 3d printed shell that looks like the orb 2.0 on the outside. If you weren't notified about a local event via the World App, it is not an official event.

Phishing faucets are the second type of WLD scam. Cloned websites impersonating Binance, Kraken or Coinbase UI. URL will be off by just an i and l, or maybe a hyphen. WLD pair will be visible on exchange. You will deposit money and it will disappear forever. Type the exchange URL into your browser manually. Bookmark after double-checking.

Lastly, stay away from any website advertising a "pre-sale" or "airdrop" of the WLD token with the Worldcoin logo. WLD didn't even launch until July 2023. There will not be a pre-sale in 2026. If a website is selling Worldcoin token and using the Worldcoin logo, it is a scam. Especially if they ask for your wallet seed phrase or private keys.

How to Buy Worldcoin Safely in Under Ten Minutes

Begin by choosing an exchange. As of this writing (Mar 31, 2026) WLD can be traded on Binance.com. It also can be bought on Coinbase.com and Kraken.com. Choose one of these three. Don't go to an exchange that someone links you to in a Facebook post, Google advertisement or private message. Go to the legitimate website of the exchange, complete KYC if you haven't already, and navigate to the spot trading page.

Locate tradable pairs on the exchange that have "WLD" as part of the pair's name. Currently on Binance WLD/USDT is listed. (As of a few days ago WLD/U is listed on Binance too). On Coinbase you will find WLD/USD. Select your currency pair and input the amount you would like to purchase. Be sure to use the limit order option (NOT market order). As of worldcoin price at $0.25, placing a market buy order will result in slippage of about 1-3% of your position size on the lower liquidity pairs.

Double check that the token symbol is "WLD" (not a phonetically similar token) and the contract address is from CoinGecko or CoinMarketCap. We have seen coins that are visually similar with names like "WorldCoin2", "WLDD" etc show up on DEXs. The WLD token should have a circulating supply of about 3.38 billion of a max supply of 10 billion. If you're looking at a different token with different supply values, leave, that isn't the contract.

The Verification Route: What's Real and What Isn't

For everyone that will be receiving WLD via Orb verification (not buying on exchange) These are the rules. Pay attention. This is zero tolerance. Download the World App from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. No other source. The app will show a map with verified Orb locations around you. ONLY visit locations pulled from the app.

Orb 2.0 is an upgraded 5G connected device with significantly greater AI computing power. Scan without having to pay, enter a seed phrase or connect an external wallet. Don't send money, crypto or wallet keys to an "Orb operator". SCAM.

Disclaimer: Worldcoin is banned/suspended in some countries (Spain, Kenya, Hong Kong, Philippines etc) due to data protection concerns. If someone in those countries is asking to verify your Orb, they are breaking the law. You will not receive a valid World ID from scanning and your biometric data will be given to unregulated parties.

What to Do in the First Sixty Seconds After Purchase

Don't leave tokens on exchanges longer than necessary. Transfer your WLD to a wallet that you control. Worldcoin token is on World Chain (the projects Layer-2 network built using Optimism's OP Stack) as well as Ethereum mainnet. Double check you are on the correct network before withdrawing tokens outside of an exchange. WLD will have much higher gas fees if sent via Ethereum mainnet. Sending WLD via World Chain will be cheaper but not all wallets support the network yet. MetaMask users can add it as a custom network. See World.org's docs for the chain ID and RPC endpoint.

Once you have the tokens in your wallet ensure the balance is correct (amount you purchased - network fees). Look up the wld price on any website that tracks cryptocurrencies such as worldcoinindex bitcoin tracker or CoinGecko and ensure you received the correct amount. Write down your wallet seed phrase and store it offline. Never take a screenshot of it. Never paste it into a website, app, or online form.

Ps. Trading WLD? If you're also watching wld coin news for trade signals just a reminder that the project is dumping roughly 1.21 million USD worth of tokens into circulation every single day with how unlocks are currently working. This amount changes daily but either way they are going to reduce the rate they are dumping these coins by 43% on July 24th, 2026 when daily emissions reduce from 5.1 million WLD down to approx 2.9 million WLD. Programmatic change to supply like this over the life of a project is important to monitor and contrast against whatever Worldcoin price prediction you might believe.

The Scam Landscape Won't Shrink on Its Own

Worldcoin has had more avenues of entry than usual for a token because you can buy it two ways: through exchange trading or biometric verification. The black market for verified accounts recently exposed by ZachXBT in April was an inevitable consequence of that decision. Furthermore, over 90% of all WLD is held by the top 100 wallets. Retail buyers are buying into extreme concentration risk and information asymmetry.

Purchasing Worldcoin safely is not impossible. However, the usual "only buy crypto from an established exchange, store it in a hardware wallet" advice doesn't really apply. Purchasers will need to confirm Orb locations via the official app, triple verify contract address before each transaction, and treat any and all unsolicited offers involving the Worldcoin logo as scams until proven otherwise.

Do this two things before you send a single dollar: bookmark the official links to your favorite exchange and the page to download the World App. Copy the official WLD contract address from CoinGecko to your notepad. Performing those two tasks will eliminate the two most common attack vectors.

Kinesis Exchange Just Solved Gold Trading's Oldest Problem

Kinesis Exchange Just Solved Gold Trading's Oldest Problem

Kinesis Gold (KAU) is a gold-backed token where each unit represents one gram of investment-grade bullion held in insured, audited vaults, built on a fork of the Stellar blockchain. KAU traded around $145.93 in mid-May 2026 with a market cap near $348 million, about 29.5% below its $206.98 high reached in March. Rather than eliminating fees, Kinesis charges a 0.45% transaction fee and redistributes 15% of global fee revenue monthly to holders as a velocity-based yield. Daily trading volume of roughly $18,000 against that market cap points to thin liquidity that pressures both price stability and the yield model. Cross-chain expansion to Ethereum, exchange listings, and payment integrations aim to build the transaction volume the yield depends on.

Where to Buy Ripple USD Without the Confusion Tax

Where to Buy Ripple USD Without the Confusion Tax

Ripple USD (RLUSD) trades at the $1.00 peg with a $1.55 billion market cap, but where to buy ripple USD remains confusing because most search results route buyers to XRP instead. RLUSD launched in December 2024 under a New York State Department of Financial Services trust charter, issued by Standard Custody & Trust with BNY Mellon as primary custodian. It runs on two networks: the XRP Ledger and Ethereum, with roughly 82 percent of supply on Ethereum and 18 percent on XRPL. OKX listed RLUSD on April 29, 2026 with over 280 spot pairs including XRP/RLUSD and margin collateral support. Bitstamp, Uphold, Bullish, Bybit, Kraken, and Bitso also list it. Coinbase does not. Daily RLUSD volume sits around $87 million, well below USDC and USDT but adequate for retail. Three mistakes quietly eat funds during an RLUSD purchase: sending to the wrong network, falling for fake ripple mining scams, and skipping KYC before fiat deposit.

GAS Coin Price Prediction Hinges On Network Math

GAS Coin Price Prediction Hinges On Network Math

Gas (GAS) is the utility token of the Neo blockchain, currently trading near $1.67 with a market cap of about $109 million, and any honest GAS coin price prediction starts with the math of network burn versus emission. The token sits 98.3% below its January 2018 all-time high of $97.49, but a fresh wave of catalysts is in motion: Kraken activated NEO and GAS spot trading on May 8, 2026; Neo X went live on LayerZero last month with access to 170-plus chains; the Council just approved a five-fold throughput boost via three-second block times. Against that runs an unresolved Foundation feud between co-founders Da Hongfei and Erik Zhang over treasury control and financial disclosure. Whether GAS can climb anywhere near a stretch $45 target by December depends less on listing pumps and more on whether Gorgon hard fork fee cuts and developer activity drive enough on-chain volume for burns to start mattering.
