pCKB is a layer 2 sUDT token on the Godwoken chain, built on the Nervos network, designed to facilitate transactions and manage fees similarly to how ETH operates on Ethereum. It was introduced with Godwoken v1 and maintains a value pegged to the native Nervos token, CKB, but with different decimal precision.
pCKB is primarily used to collect transaction fees within the Godwoken chain, similar to how ETH is used in Ethereum. The gas fee for each smart contract is calculated by multiplying the gas used by a specified gas price, denoted in pCKB. Beyond transaction fees, pCKB can also be utilised for various other purposes within the Godwoken ecosystem, including smart contract execution, dApp operations, and renting blockchain space.
