The native cryptographically-secured fungible protocol token of the ORE Protocol (ORE Token) is a transferable representation of attributed governance and utility functions specified in the protocol/code of the ORE Protocol, and which is designed to be used solely as an interoperable utility token thereon.

Although 'ORE' was the ticker assigned at the deployment of the Open Rights Exchange Token's smart contract, it is already in use by another asset that has a larger market presence and higher trading volume on major exchanges. Due to this pre-existing association and to avoid confusion in the marketplace, the alternative ticker 'OPENRI' has been adopted for this token. This designation is specifically used to ensure that assets are distinctly identified.
