Non-Playable Coin (NPC) combines the traits of a memecoin and an NFT, giving users the option to switch between the two. Based on the "NPC" internet meme, it has a fixed supply representing the world population and can be customised as unique avatars. The decentralised project is community-driven, with no expected financial returns or utility.
NPC functions as an experimental memecoin with novelty crossover functionality. Its dual design allows it to be held and traded either as an ERC20 token in traditional crypto transactions or as an NFT avatar with unique traits on supported marketplaces. Users can switch between these two formats seamlessly using the "Transform" dApp, where they can "respawn" (convert ERC20 to NFT) or "transform" (convert NFT to ERC20). NPC also offers extensive customisation options, allowing users to create unique avatars with over 200 traits available through the dApp, recorded on-chain if minted as NFTs. These personalised avatars form part of the Non-Playable Customs: Genesis Edition collection, with a maximum of 155,443 items, equal to the number of holders of the $PEPE token as of a specific snapshot date.
