Mode (MODE) is a Layer 2 blockchain that integrates AI with DeFi, enabling scalable and interoperable financial automation within the Optimism Superchain. Founded by James Ross, Mode offers low-cost, high-speed transactions and a developer-friendly infrastructure for AI-driven DeFi applications.
Mode provides a scalable, low-cost environment for AI-driven DeFi applications. The network is designed to support various use cases, including: - DeFi Automation: AI agents can monitor liquidity pools, adjust positions based on market conditions, and execute trades across decentralized exchanges (DEXs). - Smart Contract Auditing: AI performs real-time security analysis on smart contracts, detecting vulnerabilities and ensuring safe protocol interactions. - Yield Optimization: AI-driven yield strategies automate staking and farming to maximize returns with minimal user intervention. - Cross-Chain Liquidity Management: Mode enables seamless movement of assets between chains, allowing AI to optimize liquidity provisioning. - Governance and Incentives: The MODE token is used for governance, rewarding liquidity providers, and funding ecosystem growth. Mode also integrates AI frameworks such as Eliza and GOAT (Great Onchain Agent Toolkit), enabling automated decision-making and execution across DeFi protocols.
Mode was founded by James Ross in July 2023. Ross has experience in Web3 startup growth, marketing, and AI-driven product development. Before Mode, he was co-CEO of Hype, a 150-employee agency focused on blockchain and Web3, and the founder of agency0x, a DeFi growth consultancy acquired by Hype. He has also served as an advisor at Hashflow and was involved with fintech and AI startups, including Heidi, which was acquired by Tail. Ross holds a degree in Economics and Philosophy from the University of Sussex.
