About Meeds DAO
Meeds DAO (MEED) is a cryptocurrency token developed by the Meeds Association, a non-profit organization formed by Open Source Software communities. It aims to revolutionize work by creating a Web3 recognition hub, rewarding contributors with tokens for their work. Meeds tokens can be used for perks, exchanged for other currencies, or invested in DeFi protocols. The project was launched in 2020 by Patrice Lamarque and Benjamin Mestrallet, experienced open-source developers turned entrepreneurs, based in Switzerland.
The Meeds token is compatible with decentralized exchange platforms, making it easy to exchange for goods, services, or other digital assets. The token can be utilized in several ways:
- Redeeming for perks: Meeds features a customizable store where organizations can offer unique perks that can be redeemed with Meeds tokens. These perks can include snacks, gift cards, experiences, training, or even donations to support causes.
- Cashing out: If users find nothing interesting in the store, they can use their Meeds tokens to buy other things. As the Meeds token is ERC-20 compatible, it can be exchanged for any cryptocurrency using an off-ramp platform or a crypto payment card.
- Making them grow: As a tradable token, users can invest Meeds tokens in the entire DeFi ecosystem. Meeds DAO also offers its own programs to help your Meeds capital grow.
Meeds DAO was launched in 2020 by several open-source software vendors and is established in Switzerland as a non-profit association.
