About GoToken
GOT has several utility functions within the GoNetwork ecosystem:
Incentivising Long-Lived State Channels: GOT is used as collateral when participants open state channels. A geometric decay function determines how much of the staked GOT is refunded based on the channel's longevity, rewarding participants for maintaining dispute-free, long-term channels.
Facilitating Mediated Transfers: GOT is employed in mediating transfers within the state channel network. Mediators, who facilitate locked state transfers, earn GOT as a reward. This mechanism supports channel stability and reduces the need for frequent on-chain transactions.
Payment Medium: All transactions within the GoNetwork are settled using GOT, providing a standardised currency for activities within the ecosystem.
Rebalancing Channels: GOT supports channel rebalancing via atomic swaps, ensuring continued usability without excessive on-chain transactions.
GoToken was created by the team at GoNetwork, which includes prominent members such as:
Rashid Khan (CEO): Co-founder of Infinidy Corp, an established game development company, and creator of popular games like Happy Park.
Amit Shah (CTO): A software architect with expertise in blockchain technologies and prior contributions to Ethereum-based open-source projects.
Xun Cai (COO): A serial entrepreneur and co-founder of Infinidy, with extensive experience in software engineering and user-focused applications.
Although 'GOT' was the ticker assigned at the deployment of the GoToken Token's smart contract, it is already in use by another asset that has a larger market presence and higher trading volume on major exchanges. Due to this pre-existing association and to avoid confusion in the marketplace, the alternative ticker 'GTK' has been adopted for this token. This designation is specifically used to ensure that assets are distinctly identified.
