Glass Chain and the GLS token serve multiple purposes:

Glass Chain was created by the Singapore Optometry Foundation. The initiative involved a diverse and experienced founding team with expertise in blockchain technology and optometry. Key contributors include the Parrot Team, responsible for blockchain development, and industry collaborators such as optical lens manufacturers and seasoned physical glasses operators. The foundation manages the community and funds raised for its ecosystem.

Although 'GLS' was the ticker assigned at the deployment of the Glass Chain Token's smart contract, it is already in use by another asset that has a larger market presence and higher trading volume on major exchanges. Due to this pre-existing association and to avoid confusion in the marketplace, the alternative ticker 'GLASS' has been adopted for this token. This designation is specifically used to ensure that assets are distinctly identified.
