About Falcon USD

Falcon USD (USDf) is an overcollateralised synthetic dollar used within Falcon Finance to support yield-bearing strategies. Users can mint USDf with crypto collateral, stake it for sUSDf, and access sustainable yields generated by arbitrage and staking strategies.

Falcon USD (USDf) is an overcollateralised synthetic dollar issued by Falcon Finance, a decentralised protocol focused on sustainable, market-resilient yield generation. USDf is minted when users deposit eligible assets, including stablecoins and select non-stablecoin digital assets like BTC or ETH. Non-stablecoin deposits are subject to a dynamic overcollateralisation ratio to mitigate market volatility risks.

USDf is part of a dual-token model that includes sUSDf, a yield-bearing version of USDf created via staking. Falcon Finance is designed to address the limitations of traditional synthetic dollar systems by expanding collateral options and integrating a broader range of institutional-grade trading strategies.

What is Falcon USD (USDf) used for?

The USDf token serves as a synthetic stablecoin and a base layer for yield generation in the Falcon Finance ecosystem. Its primary use cases include:

  • Stable unit of account USDf is used as a stable, overcollateralised digital dollar for transactions, savings, or yield strategies.

  • Yield gateway Users can stake USDf to mint sUSDf and earn returns generated through the protocol’s various strategies.

  • Redemption flexibility USDf can be redeemed for original collateral or stablecoins at a 1:1 value, with special conditions for non-stablecoin collateral redemption based on market price.

  • Liquidity management It acts as a capital-efficient bridge to access diversified DeFi and CeFi yield streams, including arbitrage and staking.

How does Falcon Finance work?

Falcon Finance operates a dual-token model:

  • USDf: The overcollateralised synthetic dollar, backed by stablecoins or non-stablecoin digital assets.
  • sUSDf: A yield-bearing token created by staking USDf. Its value appreciates over time as protocol-generated yields accrue.

Key mechanisms include:

  • Overcollateralisation: Non-stablecoin deposits are subject to dynamic collateral ratios based on asset volatility and liquidity.
  • Restaking incentives: Users can lock sUSDf for fixed periods to boost yield and receive NFTs tied to those tenures.
  • Multi-strategy yield generation: Utilises funding rate arbitrage (positive and negative), cross-exchange price arbitrage, and native staking on assets such as altcoins and stablecoins.
  • ERC-4626-based architecture: Yield is distributed via tokenised vault standards for transparency and efficiency.
