AWE Network is a decentralised infrastructure platform designed to support the creation and operation of AI-driven virtual environments known as Autonomous Worlds. These environments enable AI agents to interact, learn, and evolve within scalable, persistent simulations. The core of the platform is the Autonomous Worlds Engine (AWE), a modular framework that supports complex agent-agent and human-agent interactions through features like parallel processing, dependency management, and GPU-accelerated workloads.

Originally launched as the Standard Tokenization Protocol (STP) in 2019, the project rebranded to AWE Network in May 2025 to align with its new focus on AI agent collaboration. This rebranding included a token swap from STPT to AWE at a 1:1 ratio, with AWE now deployed on the Base network.

The AWE token has multiple roles in the AWE Network ecosystem:

• Governance Token holders can participate in decision-making, including protocol upgrades and resource allocation, through both on-chain and off-chain mechanisms.

• Medium of Exchange Used to access services within the ecosystem, such as deploying AI agents and interacting with applications.

• Staking Users can stake AWE tokens to earn rewards, with annualised returns ranging from 8% to 15%.

• Incentivisation Developers and users are rewarded with AWE tokens for contributing to the ecosystem, such as by running nodes or developing applications.

Who created AWE Network (AWE)?

AWE Network was founded by Mike Chen and Richard Lee. Mike Chen, who serves as Co-Founder, played a key role in guiding the project’s transformation from the Standard Tokenization Protocol (STP) to AWE Network. Richard Lee, also a Co-Founder, contributes his expertise in the areas of decentralised systems and AI agent collaboration.
